I am leading a debate this afternoon in the Assembly entitled "Combating the Illegal Meat Trade".
Have had 2 interviews with the BBC on this issue, and I am looking forward to hearing the Ministers comments in response to my contribution. Watch this space !
Left North Wales very early to be in Cardiff by Mid Morning. Started with a Staff Meeting, then another meeting with the Countryside Alliance, after that discussions with my staff regarding constituency work and speeches and questions in the Chamber this week.
Next - a reception for the Countryside Protection of Rural Wales : Off Road Motoring. This was a very useful meeting.
Held a joint surgery with British Gas today. Found out a lot about their Here to Help Scheme. If someone is claiming any form of benefit, they can have free insulation in their properties. There is also a scheme for people not on benefit. They can claim a considerable discount for insulation and associated improvements for the house.
Had an interview with the BBC today for a programme called Taro Law. It was with regard to new building regulations introduced to reduce the levels of radon gas. I believe Flintshire County Council is one of the first Councils in Wales to put these regulations in place.
My wife and I attended a Civic Service and Lunch in Ruthin Castle which was most enjoyable. The service was very uplifting, and it gave me an opportunity to talk to a lot of people from the local area.
Meeting people is one of my favourite roles as an AM.
